In the Spring of 2019, the Seoul Metropolitan Government organised an International Design Competition for the development of a new Sport Center Facility, located on Dongil-ro at Suraksan Subway Station. This design for the Seoul Eoullim Sports Center is conceived as an elegant and welcoming home for Sports Activities, shared by the disabled and non-disabled, brought together under one single and majestic roof. Its internal organization is conveniently laid out in differentiated spaces to allow daily sport activities to take place efficiently and to provide the local community with maximized usage opportunities. All facilities satisfy international standards for professional athletes and are housed in a unique building that combines sustainable EcoDesign, energy efficiency, locally available innovative construction technology and engaging spatial design. Latest innovative design technology is used to optimize structural performance, minimize embodied carbon in construction, and maximize user experience.
